Village set for first-ever overseas tour

Village set for first-ever overseas tour

MHVCC Reporters3 Jul - 15:05

Club heading to the Netherlands at the end of July for a week of cricket at top venues in Amsterdam, Utrecht, and Bloemendaal

In a historic first for the club, Mill Hill Village Cricket Club will embark on its maiden overseas tour later this month, with a week-long cricketing adventure across the Netherlands.

Departing on Monday July 28, a squad of Village members will visit the Netherlands for three fixtures in as many days, returning home on Friday August 1.

The tour will see the club pit its talents against opposition in three of the most scenic — and internationally recognised — venues the Netherlands has to offer.

Fixtures are scheduled as follows:

:: Tuesday 29 July: Kampong Cricket Club, Utrecht

:: Wednesday 30 July: VRA Amsterdam

:: Thursday 31 July: Bloemendaal Cricket Club

Players will be based in Amsterdam for the duration of the trip, with convenient travel links to Utrecht and Bloemendaal making daily journeys straightforward. Participants are invited to make their own travel arrangements to and from Amsterdam.

Director of Cricket Phil Smith is calling on members to seize this rare opportunity, highlighting that such a tour may not be repeated for many years to come. Interested parties should contact him for further details to find out more information about travel details and costs.

Smith said: “We have three excellent games lined up at beautiful, picturesque venues in Amsterdam, Utrecht and Bloemendal that have hosted international fixtures.

“This is our first-ever overseas tour and may not be repeated for many years to come, so get on board. Let's have a great week playing cricket in the Netherlands!”

With preparations well underway, players are urged to register their interest promptly.
