Hanwell won the toss and batted first. MHV initially struggled to contain the agressive batting intent. George Downes and Marcus Cara's good quality slow bowling slowed the run rate. Hanwell lost wickets regularly but got up to 228 from 49.5. Two wickets each for Downes, Cara, Overton and Butcher plus two run outs courtesy of Pete Jaffe.
The village reply got of to a disastrous start with Felix, Smudger and Marcus all back in the pavillion with only 1 run between them. Zafar's excellent 73 and Pete Jaffe's solid 37 gave the visitors brief hope. However, as in the first innings, pace off the ball proved difficult to get away. The final six wickets all fell to the off spinner as the Village innings collapsed to 152 all out.
