The 1st XI extended their run of victories to four and moved to the top of Division 6B with a 4 wicket win at home, over Old Haberdashers. It was a ‘scrappy’ game in which no batsmen managed to score more than 30 runs and no bowler took more than 3 wickets on either side, in the match. Wides top scored for the visitors and this coupled with more dropped catches undermined what was otherwise a decent bowling and fielding display. The visitors were dismissed for 164 in the 43rd over. In reply the Village were wobbling at 87 for 5 before the middle order (Felix 29, A Potter 22* & Overton 16*) steadied the ship. It was a nervous watch and a less than convincing batting display but in the end a comfortable victory was secured with 16 overs to spare.
