Successful first game in Herts League

The first game of the season got off to a great start. After winning the toss, MHV chose to bat. A bad start with some indecisive running left us 3 down quite early on. A good partnership between Smudger and Marcus went some way to repairing the early damage, however another mini collapse left us 136-7. The tail wagged considerably with 9, 10 and 11 all contributing in useful partnerships with Danny Potter who finished 48 not out, before Dave declared on 243-9.

After the turnaround, the bowling was almost unplayable with Dave and Saahil taking 5 wickets between them to leave the opposition struggling. Despite the odd 16 run over, Wingnut and Danny Potter claimed the final 5 wickets at some considerable ease to bowl the opposition all out for just 102 in 23 overs.

A good start to the season, lets hope we can get another 30 points next week!
