The match was reduced to 40 overs a side following four brief but frustrating rain breaks in the Village innings. This did little to settle a fragile top and middle order, as the home side stumbled to 80-5 in the 16th over. Majid Asif (51) joined the old stalwart Felix Charles (46) in the middle and the pair built a match winning partnership of 97. Despite the shortened innings the Village again failed to use up their allocation being dismissed for 210 from 39.9 overs.
It proved to be plenty of runs as the top order were blown away. The score was 3 for 3 after 3 overs. Saahil Mehra (2-16) galloping out of the starting gates with 2 wickets in his first two balls, both hitting off stump, having seamed away from middle. Most of the bowlers got a piece of the action with Majid Asif capping off a MOM performance with 3-28. Dan Potter's 2 wickets for 1 run sealed the victory in the 32nd over with the visitors Clifton bowled out for 120.
The Village go joint top of the league after 3 games played.
