Creditable draw

Marcus 5 wickets - 3 caught and bowled and 5 catches overall were the highlight of the Village 1st innings bowling efforts. But Holtwhites amassed a significant 274 before being bowled out.

Village were never really in the chase particularly as the Home umpire kept giving dubious LBWs and caught behinds whenever he felt the home side needed a boost. despite this the Village hung on well for a draw, thanks largely to Felix Charles (66) and Daniel Potter (57).

The Village secured the same number of points as the home team and would have gone home with more but for a run out on the last ball due to confusion in the running between Felix Charles and Dave Overton who failed to work out the extra bonus point on offer and a strategy for securing it.
