Batting first the Village scored 208 from 47 as they were bowled out yet again from a position of strength. 179-5 after 42 was not capitalised upon.On this occasion however it proved to be enough. The Potter carried the bulk of the load Danny (46) and Andrew (38). Other useful contributions came from Felix Charles (32) and Majid Asif (29).
Hitchin were never really in the chase due to a slow run rate and the loss of wickets at regular intervals. Marcus Cara (3-46) was the most successful of the bowlers, followed by a rare outing for Phil Smith who picked up 2-26 in a 5 over spell of plop bowling.
Victory secured and safety in sight from relegation in sight.
Only a handful of points are needed in the last two games.
