Blown away by a destructive one man innings

Yet another sub standard batting performance sealed the Village fate and the 1st team were relegated for the 1st time in the Herts League structure.

A total of 137 with a top score of 30 by Jay Nandha never looked defendable.
When the LT&I No.3 came out swinging he looked very hit and miss. But once he found the middle, the ball started to disappear to all parts of Burtonhole Lane and beyond. The total was overhauled in the 21st over.

The recriminations could then begin in earnest.
Lots of things could be pointed to as reasons for relegation. 10 points deducted for no umpire in two games proved particularly costly as the difference to Kings Langley in 8th place was 9 points. KL did very well to beat Holtwhites in their final game to make themselves safe.

In the end it was simply poor performances, with far too many players out of form and playing below par which were the real reasons for the sorry season.

Things will be better next year!
