Mill Hill Village’s march towards the Herts Division 7 title continued with an emphatic 8 wicket win, away against Southgate Adelaide 2nd XI. The Village now have a 48 point lead at the top of their league. After a relatively solid start, the Adelaide batting line disintegrated against some quality bowling. Ben Dawson returned figures of 5-36 with his right arm slow and the left arm spin of Andrew Brazill accounted for 2 more victims. Both spinners managed to induce a rash of injudicious shots from the hosts middle order and the Village catching was sound. Captain David Overton was also in the wickets again, picking up 3-34. The total of 108 all out was never enough to challenge the strong Village batting line up and indeed the visitors lost only one wicket along the way. Dan Potter scored 68 not out to add his impressive run tally for the season.
