After losing the toss Chalky was asked to field, a decision which wasn't entirely justified. After some tight bowling and regular wickets, Botany Bay lost their first 5 wickets for 30 odd. A sporting Chalky decided to try and make a game of it, rotating the bowlers but despite his best efforts, Botany Bay failed to accumulate one batting point and were 108-8 off their 47 overs.
What should have been a relatively straightforward chase was looking difficult when Matin, Shahme and Pete were all back in the hutch with the score at 28-3, but some lusty blows from Lee Cara and a more patient innings from Ali Sayed swung the game back in our favour. Both got out towards the end of the chase, leaving Dan Penny and Chalky to knock off the remainder of the runs.
