Another poor performance from the 3s

The 3s were away at Northampton Exiles and lost the toss and were inserted.

James Thompson (2) & Sanket Shah (10) opened up but the 5th over saw Sanket caught before the skipper nicked behind 2 balls later. George Leggett (1) & Piers Jenkins (2) were the next men in but they also went in consecutive overs both caught as the Village were 19-4 off of 10. Anand Verma (16) & Mohamed Salahudeen (15) tried to rebuild the innings and had the best partnership pf 28 before Anand was caught. The 17th over would see the end of both Mo & Farzan Dulker Nain (1) to leave the Village 57-7 off of 18 overs. Tommy Smith (9*) & Nick Demarco (5) stayed together for 6 overs before Nick was bowled. Harry Arjan (3) was next in and he was caught in the 26th over before Andrew Godfrey (0) was caught in the next over as the Village had been bowled out for 78.

Andrew Godfrey (0-16) & Tommy Smith (1-34) opened the bowling and were into their rhythm early. Tommy would pick up a wicket thanks to a smart catch at gully from Mo Salahudeen. Godders was unlucky not to get a wicket in his spell even though one of their batsman got an inside edge and was caught by the skipper behind the stumps and was not given out. George Leggett (1-8) replaced Tommy and got the fortunate batsman out thanks to a juggling catch by Godders, 55-2 off of 16. Nick Demarco (0-11) & Anand Verma (0-12) also bowled but the total was always easy to get for Northampton Exiles who bought the victory up in the 21st over.

Another disappointing performance after last weeks saw the Village bowled out for just 78 with no batsman applying themselves in the circumstances. Andrew Godfrey and George Leggett bowled exceptionally well but the game had gone due to the inept batting display. The 3s would end the day in 9th and hoping that 2nd bottom would not be relegated this season.
