Mill Hill Village CC seeks volunteer coaches for winter junior training

Mill Hill Village CC seeks volunteer coaches for winter junior training

MHVCC Reporters11 Jan - 12:19

The club launches its 11-week indoor winter training for juniors on January 16 at Mill Hill School Sports Centre

We encourage parents to support the club by volunteering at our Friday night indoor sessions for juniors. No experience or qualifications necessary

Mill Hill Village Cricket Club is seeking more volunteer coaching assistants to ensure its winter training programme is a great success.

The 2026 indoor sessions, which begin on Friday January 16 at Mill Hill School, will be led by two qualified coaches: Leigh Wooldridge, an ECB Level 2 Cricket Coach with more than 15 years of experience, will take training in the Mill Hill School Sports Hall downstairs for younger children; Matt Barrett, a Level 2 coach with more than 10 years of experience, will lead sessions in the upstairs gallery nets for the older children.

Mill Hill Village Cricket Club is an organisation run almost exclusively by volunteers. As both our junior and adult sections continue to grow, we are increasingly reliant on our members' goodwill, skills, and services.

On the junior cricket front, there are many ways that parents and guardians can help and we would encourage you to consider supporting the club by volunteering at our Friday night indoor sessions as a coaching and/or administration assistant. No experience or qualifications are necessary.

For those keen to earn a coaching qualification, costs of the training via the County Cricket Boards that we are affiliated with — Middlesex and Hertfordshire CCC — can be met by MHVCC. Details are below for new year courses. If you’re interested, please email info@millhillvillagecricketclub.co.uk.

Alternatively, if you have any questions about getting a coaching qualification, you can also email Matt via matthew_barrett92@yahoo.co.uk or come and speak to him at a Friday evening session — he has been through the process.

If you can help out in any way in support of junior cricket at MHVCC, we’d love to hear from you.
