Mill Hill Village launches Fantasy Cricket League

Mill Hill Village launches Fantasy Cricket League

MHVCC Reporters13 Jun - 09:11

The quest for Fantasy League supremacy has begun for the 2025 season

The wait is over – fantasy cricket has landed at Mill Hill Village Cricket Club!

Players and supporters can now dive in and build their ultimate Village team. Yes, it’s time to test just how well you really rate your clubmates.

Play Fantasy Cricket and create your own Village team

The 2025 season’s fantasy league is live - lock in your team before noon on Saturday June 14 to earn points this weekend. Most of your favourite (and maybe not-so-favourite) Village players are up for grabs – and that includes everyone from current stars to more occasional part-timers. The fantasy league has had a fantastic response so far, with more than a dozen club members having already entered a team.

How does it work?
Pick your team of six MHVCC players, choose a captain and earn points based on how they perform in real league matches – runs, wickets, catches, the lot. More on the rules here. You’ve got a £35 million budget to spend on your six, so spend it wisely. Got someone in your team not pulling their weight? Then transfer them out.

Club member and organiser Tommy Smith said: “MHVCC Fantasy Cricket League is here! Fill your team with OUR club players who you think will score runs and take wickets on a Saturday! Players earn points based on real match performances. Check out the rules and get building. Let the fun/chaos begin!”

First XI all-rounder Sam Smith is currently the most expensive player at a price of £9 million, with in-form Momin Sadozai (pictured above) coming in at a price of £8 million. Each team must have an initial value of no more than £35 million.

Tommy Smith said: “Each player’s value was based on ‘game’ opportunity each week - who bats high, bowls lots of overs, etc as well Play-Cricket stats.”

It costs £10 to play for the season, with winnings set to be split between the top managers.

A Mill Hill Village Cricket Club spokesman said: “This is an outstanding initiative by Tommy. It's great to have Fantasy Cricket League back at the Village. We hope many players and supporters take part - it should be a lot of fun. We thank Tommy for his efforts in organising this.”
