Back to back wins

The village 2nd team secured back 2 back wins for the 1st time this season. Berkhamsted won the toss & elected to bat. Accurate bowling from Darshan & spam head Crocker kept the openers in check before both bowlers stuck reducing the home side to 40 for 2 off 16 overs. Nut & Jacko kept the presure up and wickets continued to fall and at 80 for 5 we had a chance to bowl them out cheaply. However, on an improving pitch their late order rallied and evenyally reached 184 - 9 off 47 overs (including two 6s off of Richard Downes - get out the ground!).

In reply, the village opened with 4th/5th team specialist Dave Wing & Sunny. Wing fell to his 1st straight ball & Zaf joined Sunny at the crease. Scoring at the required rate the village reached 59 before Sunny was bowled playing across the line. The game was now in the balance but Dave Flavell & Zaf continued their form from last week and both hit unbeaten 50s leading the side to victory with 3 overs to spare.

Victory took the team to 7th in the table but with the top 4 winning we remain 36 points off of 4th place
