New names on the clubhouse honours board

Club marks this season's century makers and six-wicket hauls

It’s been a season to remember at Mill Hill Village Cricket Club, with seven centuries and two six-fors earning their place on the club’s honours board for 2025 — a record of achievement that reflects our strongest all-round campaign in living memory.

Each year, we update our honours boards to recognise standout individual performances — centuries with the bat and six-wicket hauls with the ball — dating back to when the club joined the Herts League a decade and a half ago. We also update our season award winners.

Our digital honours board can be found on the Information section of our website, here: millhillvillagecricketclub.co.uk/information.

With all five adult league teams earning promotion, it was an especially memorable season for our run-scorers.

There were seven centuries across the Saturday and Sunday league sides, making it one of the most prolific batting years in recent memory, including two apiece from Momin Sadozai (2nd XI) and H Ikram - a new name representing a new team on the list - of the Sunday 1st XI. In fact, that total is roughly the same number of hundreds added over the past half a dozen seasons combined — a clear sign of the growing strength and depth developing throughout the club.

Sadozai registered the highest knock of the season: 195 against off 120 balls against Friends United CC for the Sunday 1st XI on May 25. This effort followed a century the previous day for the 2nd XI in a remarkable two-ton weekend first reported by millhillvillagecricketclub.co.uk in May.

Other new names on our centurions' honours board include the 4th XI's Amir Sultan (136, including 19 fours and seven sixes) and Mohammed Ayoubi (100 retired not out), who together racked up a partnership of 256 against Preston CC 4th XI on May 31. Sultan also scored 103 not out in a friendly against Letchworth Garden City CC 5th XI, but our honours board only takes league matches into account.

The bowlers also had their moments of dominance, with two six-fors added to the records. One came from Sam Smith, who enjoyed another outstanding season, and the other from Mirza Bashir, a new name on the list. Smith earns a special mention as the only player to feature on both batting and bowling honours boards — a rare double.

Below are the players whose names have been etched into our honours board for 2025:
