Mill Hill Village Cricket Club is pleased to announce its captains for our five Saturday Herts League teams for the 2026 season, as well as our Sunday 1st XI skipper.
MHVCC can confirm that top-order batsman Devraj Ray has been reappointed club captain and will skipper the 1st XI after leading his side to back-to-back promotions. It will be Dev’s third season as club captain having been appointed in December 2023.

Bowler Hamdard Jan Temori retains the 2nd XI captaincy, his second year in charge. Last year Jan was named captain of our team of the season.
Off-spinner Pryank Patel and batsman Ken Shakoor swap roles after a club vote: Ken will step up from the 4th XI captaincy to lead the 3rd XI this year while last year’s 3s skipper Pryank becomes skipper of the 4s, a role he previously held with distinction.
H Ikram retains the captaincy for the Sunday 1st XI, who play in the Middlesex Premier Cricket League.
Last season, all five league captains led their sides to promotion in a year of unprecedented success.
As previously announced, Matt Barrett will captain our new Saturday 5th XI, the first time the club has fielded a fifth Saturday side for decades. The newly formed side will take its place in the Saracens Herts Premier Cricket League’s Division 14 East, playing home games at Old Haberdashers Sports Club, Croxdale Road, Borehamwood. The formation of a Saturday 5th XI is a surefire sign of the health of Mill Hill Village, with its growing adult membership base.

A Mill Hill Village Cricket Club spokesman said: “Taking on the captaincy is a multifaceted role carried out on a volunteer basis. Team captains have administrative duties to carry out such as team selection and liaising with the opposition; they play an important role in player development and welfare, as well as in-match decision-making. They are also responsible for passing on the traditions of our club, established in 1868, to teammates and ensuring their side adheres to the spirit of cricket. This year is an especially important one for the club as in May we mark 80 years since our very first match at Burtonhole Lane, our permanent home.
"Mill Hill Village Cricket Club congratulates the quintet on their appointments and wishes them and their teams all the best for the season ahead. We thank them for taking on these roles and encourage the wider membership to support them in every way possible.”
